Unspoken Press Release

Clinician Rebecca Chianese asks: "What happens when we speak out? We rise up." And we become enraged about abuse's lasting impact.

But, how many women still remain silent about the abuse shadowing their lives and choices? April is not only Child Abuse Prevention Month, but also Sexual Assault Awareness Month. It's the ideal time for rising up. Unspoken offers examples of how to break that silence on many different levels.

Rebecca Chianese's Unspoken illustrates the empowering results of discussing abuse. It's a novel ripe for conversation—particularly in women's book clubs, who will find Unspoken a powerful account of the ripple effects of abuse not only in families, but within communities.

Unspoken is about family relationships, the lies and truths women tell one another, and how different women handle the challenges of injury, passing on legacies of either silence or empowerment to their daughters.

Too many times, important truths remain unsaid. In Unspoken, they are revealed, contrasted, and assessed for how they damage or transform mother/daughter relationships and communities as a whole.

Unspoken's message arrives just in time to provide new insights and points of discussion for Child Abuse Prevention Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Unspoken (298 Pages) is published as softcover (ISBN: 978-1-63233-277-6), hardcover (ISBN: 978-1-63233-278-3 and eBook (978-1-63233-279-0). Available at Amazon and Eifrig Publishing.

A portion of all sales will benefit Hope’s Door, a non-profit supporting victims of domestic violence. https://hopesdoorny.org/

What People are Saying

“Unspoken crafts a drama that builds, then evolves. It begins with the issue of self-injury and its rationale and moves into unexpected circles of confrontation, redemption, and change. Unspoken is an outstanding story that lingers in the mind long after its reading and is especially recommended for women's fiction readers and those who enjoy stories of contemporary mother/daughter relationships, community connections and struggles, and accounts of predators and their impact upon all." ~D. Donovan, Sr. Reviewer Midwest Book Review

"Unspoken is a fraught page turner with deep insight and a sprinkling of humor. You will get to know the characters so well they will feel like new friends." Laura C.

"Twisty and disturbing with a glossy rose-colored glasses world that eventually implodes. Best read with a glass of wine toward the middle." Jillian L.

“This book pulls you in from page one as you meet each of the main characters and follow them on an unexpected journey. These 4 friends will be pushed to decide how far they are willing to go to be a good friend, a good wife, and most of all, a good mother.” Patti G.
